Come join us on to try out a selection of our favorite new fall yarns. It's always fun to see what yarn companies come up with every fall -- so come try 'em out! The yarn tasting is $12 and fills up quickly so call soon to reserve your spot. (And as always, you'll receive a 10% off coupon for featured yarns.)
New Stuff
Since our last newsletter, we've received oodles of delicious new yarns, and fantastic patterns! Even though the list below looks outrageously long, fall yarns have been coming in so fast and furious, that we're not sure they're all listed below... You'll just have to come and check for yourselves! :)
New Yarns:
Rowan: Cocoon & Kidsilk Aura -- Rowan's new yarns this season are (of course) everything we expect from Rowan: luscious fibers, sophisticated colors & fabulous patterns! Now usually we don't like it when folks mess with perfection -- but whoever at Rowan had the idea to make a thicker version of Kidsilk Haze is absolutely brilliant! Same softness, sheen, & haze -- you just get to use bigger needles! Cocoon is a cozy wool/mohair yarn. This one is just crying out to be made into a wear-everywhere fall sweater.
RYC: Cashsoft Chunky -- The RYC folks just released a chunky-weight version of their fabulous Cashsoft line. Soft yarn that knits up fast -- what's not to love?>br?
Shibui: Our first yarn from this new line is their sock yarn. Nice tight, squishy sock yarn in entrancing colorways!
Malabrigo Laceweight -- yes, that's right, laceweight yarn from the folks at Malabrigo! Same soft soft soft yarn, same delicoius kettle dyed colorways, just skinnied down for the lace afficionado!
Classic 2 Kaalund -- Fantastic laceweight wool in scrumptious colorways from Australia.
Cascade Venezia -- Wool/Silk blend from our friends at Cascade. Great for sweaters or scarves!
Kaffe Fasset Regia Sock Yarn -- The master of color, Kaffe Fasset got together with the folks at Regia (who *know* sock yarn) and came up with this fabulous line of sock yarn. Some are variegated, some are self-striping - all are sophisticated color combinations! Little works of art for your feet...
K1C2 Soxx Appeal -- This *super* stretchy sock yarn is mostly merino wool, with just a smidge of nylon and elastic thrown in. If you like socks with lots of stretch and give -- this is the yarn for you!
Pagewood Farms Handdyed DK weight yarn -- We loved their sock yarn so much, we've added their DK weight. Great hand dyed colorways.
Jo Sharp Alpaca Kid Lustre -- One of those blends where the sum is greater than the parts... Merino, Kid Mohair, and Alpaca all meld perfectly in this yarn.
New Patterns & Books
The fall patterns, books & magazines are also rolling in... It's great to see a season where all our favorite pattern sources are firing on all cylinders.
Rowan -- Magazine #42, Studio # 5, New Shapes, Kidsilk Aura -- If you're a rowanette, we really don't need to explain why these books are always the first ones we sell out. If you're not a rowanette -- come check these out and become a convert.
RYC Classic #21, 22 & 23 --
knit 3 by Jo Sharp -- next in Jo's series of modern classics!
Interweave Knits Fall -- Where to start? The cover sweater - fab.
The tangled cardigan - everyone in the store has one on needles. Many fantastic projects
The Knitting Manual -- Patterns for guys to knit and/or wear. Sweaters, socks, hats, scarves, ...
New Pathways for Sock Knitters by Cat Bordhi -- You might think a sock is a sock is a sock. But Cat Bordhi takes an in depth look at sock construction and comes up with a bunch of new solutions. Really. It's actually kind of mind blowing...
Simply Shetland 4 -- Full of classics (as always), but Eunny Jang's Autumn Rose knocks it out of the park - an updated, flattering fair isle sweater.
Loop d Loop Crochet by Teva Durham -- This book makes us want to dust off our hooks and go. Crochet never looked so fabulous!
Restocks:
In preparation for fall, we've recently received restocks of many of our favorite yarns -- too much to list in the newsletter -- so just a couple teasers... New Rowan colors & more Habu!!!
