By Vote of Congress, Stash For Clunkers is Over

Many thanks to all who participated in this fun event! It was great to see what people brought in and what went right back out the door. So much yarn and so many needles found happy knitters to go home with! Good yarny karma all around! (We are puzzled by the plethora of unwanted straight metal 13's! Poor unlucky 13.)

We are still trying to find good homes for the remainder of the clunker yarn and needles (especially the above mentioned 13's!!). If you represent a non-profit organization or school, and you want yarn or needle s, you can come in and take your choice from the Stash for Clunkers bins. P lease come prepared to give us a
tax ID number and receipt for what you take. Please spread the word!

Knit Doctor

You asked for it and we listened. As most of you know we always try to help with quick knitting questions and /or mishaps, but sometimes folks need a little more help than we can provide in a few minutes at the counter. Here's where the Knit Doctor comes in. The Knit Doctor will be available on Saturday afternoons from 2-4pm. For $10 you can reserve 15 minutes for individual, undivided attention to help get you back on track.

Knit Night

Come join us for a respite from the over-planned, over-scheduled lives everyone seems to be living these days. Every Wednesday night we get together to socialize, knit, chat, show off our yarny triumphs, get sympathy for our yarny disasters, an d basically just hang out. So please join us on Wednesdays @ 6:00pm- 8pm and bring your knitting! As always, Knit Nights are free

Afghans for Afghans : September 20 from 2:30-4:30, at Stash

On the third Sunday of each month from 2:30-4:30, Stash welcomes the afghans for Afghans knitting/crochet group. Long-time participants and new-comers are all welcomed! afghans for Afghans is a humanitarian and educational people-to-people project that sends hand-knit and crocheted blankets and sweaters, vests, hats, mittens, and socks to the beleaguer ed people of Afghanistan. Intro to Knitting 1 with Rebekah

2 Saturdays. September 26 and October 3, 10am to 12pm $45. Learn to cast on, knit, purl and bind off. Take this class -- and you'll officially be a knitter!

Intro to Knitting II with Rebekah

2 Saturdays. October 10 and 17. 10-12pm $45 Build on the skills you learned in Knitting I Learn to increase and decrease, pick up stitches and knit in the round.

Whirly Gig Sweater

2 Wednesdays September 30 & October 7 6:30- 8:30pm $45. Join us in making this extra super cute baby shrug (can easily be sized up for older girls...) from Interweave Knits Weekend Magazine. Its a great pattern from Stephanie Japel, with top down construction. Appropriate for intermediate knitters.
