Stash June 2009 Newsletter (Jun 19, 2009 12:02PM)

Stash Newsletter:

Greetings knitters, crocheters and fiber enthusiasts! Summer is finally here and you know what that means for much of the Bay Area: Beautiful, blanketing fog!! While most of the country swelters under stifling, horrible sunshine, we stay cool, calm, and collected under the clouds. When the torrid weather in other places renders needles and hooks too hot to touch, here we can sit with our wool projects on our laps and be perfectly comfortable. And on those rare days when it gets hot in Berkeley? Stash has air conditioning!

Solano Super Sidewalk Sale: Saturday June 20, 2009

This Saturday, Stash and several other stores on the avenue will participate in a sidewalk sale. Stop by and check out the deeply discounted yarn, kits and pattern booklets on our sidewalk table. Come inside where we will have selected yarn discounted. As always, there are no returns on sale yarn.

What's on our needles?

We are so grateful to all of you who come in and show us what you are working on that we thought maybe you would like to hear what we are up to.

Rebekah is knitting the Pinwheel Baby Blanket by Genia Planck out of Noro's Taiyo, a soft and lovely cotton, silk wool, and nylon combination.

Nicole is knitting the Shetland triangle from Wrap Style out of Alchemy's Synchroncity.

Ellen is knitting Ophicleide, a top down cardigan by Kamicha out of Louet's Opal yarn.

Christa is knitting a "stealth project" using Karabella's lovely Aurora 4 . I would tell you what it is but then Christa would have to kill me.

We will try to have the projects with us when at work so if you would like to see something just ask.

Knit Doctor

You asked for it and we listened. As most of you know we always try to help with quick knitting questions and /or mishaps, but sometimes folks need a little more help than we can provide in a few minutes at the counter. Here's where the Knit Doctor comes in. The Knit Doctor will be available on Saturday afternoons from 2-4pm. For $10 you can reserve 15 minutes for individual, undivided attention to help get you back on track.

Knit Night

Come join us for a respite from the over-planned, over-scheduled lives everyone seems to be living these days. Every Wednesday night we get together to socialize, knit, chat, show off our yarny triumphs, get sympathy for our yarny disasters, and basically just hang out. So please join us on Wednesdays @ 6:00pm- 8pm and bring your knitting! As always, Knit Nights are free
